Outdoor Learning Days for schools

our woodland site

Outdoor learning days offer schools the opportunity to allow their pupils the chance to explore nature and gain first hand experience of the natural world whilst maintaining a strong emphasis on relating the content of the session back to the national curriculum.

We can tailor our outdoor learning days to requirements of your year group depending on what they are currently studying or what may be of particular interest. Previous days have included crafts, plant identification and foraging wild foods, den building, knots and rope balance games. We can also provide these days within your school grounds, or exploring different environments from the woods to the beach!
Our longer outdoor programmes also offer the John Muir Award, A National Conservation Award at Discovery Level.

scf_logoWe have been very lucky to have been supported by the South Downs National Park Authority and their Sustainable Communities Fund. This has helped us deliver our outdoor learning days to several schools in Sussex over the past few months. Several of these classes were from inner city areas giving children who may not have been into countryside environments very often the chance to get outdoors and learn about nature.

This funding has also allowed us to provide our Outdoor Learning Training for teachers and teaching support workers at a subsidised rate. For more info click here.
