Wood-based Craft Adult Training
Tuesday 3rd March 2015
This one-day workshop is aimed at Forest School Leaders, outdoor practitioners and anyone interested in extending their knowledge on working with wood. The day will share useful skills to support crafting a range of wood-based objects and give you the confidence to transfer these skills to others. We will use local materials and provide an understanding of how one craft can lead to the ability to create many others.
Identifying what you need, the resources and the skills to create it, is an invaluable skill and is all we need to make a beautiful and homely camp area where we can craft projects that we can then put to immediate use.
Some of the skills covered include:
Useful permanent camp equipment.
Safe tool use.
Notch carving and their many uses.
Simple and usable crafted projectile technologies.
Carved cutlery and camp utensils.
Understanding of different woods and their uses.
